Do we require a minimum duration ?
Yes, we require a minimum of 1 week
Minimum Stay: There is no limit on how long or short your stay at ADEM Mission. However, the longer you come, the more you can help. Volunteers who stay longer learn more about the people, the culture, and the lifestyle, and ultimately, they can end up making a bigger difference. That said, if you can only manage a few weeks, we would still love to have you!

Rules Governing Volunteers:

Dressing code:
Volunteers are expected to dress in decent manner as to local standards
Volunteers are expected to pay for their transport from the airport to their expected place of residence and back to the airport on departure. The volunteer will take care of his/her transport to the field at a fee of $5 a day, which will include fuel and motor bike hire. The field transportation fee shall be paid through the office.
Days of Work:
We work every Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm
The organization will provide accommodation at a fee that will be determined by the period of stay
The volunteers shall contribute a fee of $5 a day to the organization towards all their meals. The organization shall be responsible to ensure that they get all their meals.
If volunteers need to have a safari, they shall be responsible for all the costs. A guide will be available on request.
Place of prayer:
For all religious volunteers they are free to go to any place of worship relevant to their faith, but it could be a good idea to praise with us, because the organization is Christian based.
The organization shall ensure safety of the volunteers at all times. The volunteers are free to contribute to the ministry in the forms of adaptive aids, clothes for the children/ parents, medicines and money
The organization believes in relationships, but encourages volunteers to take precautions and not to trust people too quickly to avoid disappointments.
ADEM Mission does not provide the volunteer with insurance of any kind. Travel insurance is mandatory for each volunteer, and the volunteer will purchase this prior to departing on the trip. The volunteer is solely responsible for evaluating and determining the type, extent and levels of any insurance coverage they need or desire for their planned volunteer travel period. This must cover their entire travel period.
Drug and Alcohol Use:
The volunteer must abide by the rules put in place by the independent local team, volunteer placement institution, and the host family in regards to alcohol consumption. Drug use (unless prescribed by a doctor) is strictly prohibited and will result in instant dismissal from the program with no refund.
Privacy Policy:
ADEM Mission and the volunteer agree to the conditions laid out in the Privacy Policy.
Governing Law:
These Terms and Conditions and the service provided pursuant to these Terms and Conditions will be governed by the laws of Uganda and the parties submit to the non – exclusive jurisdiction of the Uganda Courts.
